A Survey on Energy Efficient Hierarchical Routing Protocols in Wireless Sensor Network
  Authors : Sreela E K; Asha G.

Wireless Sensor network (WSN) is the emerging technology used for various applications such as environmental monitoring, health monitoring and military applications. It consist a group of small and low cost sensor nodes having sensing, processing, communication and power unit. But WSN provides limited battery power and communication range to the sensor nodes. In order to extend the lifetime of sensor nodes, many energy aware routing protocols are proposed. Here, a review on the hierarchical based routing protocols in WSN is carried out.

One of the major challenges in a wireless sensor network is to energy efficiency. In order to manage the energy consumption of sensor nodes so many routing protocols are proposed. This paper discuss and compare some hierarchical based routing protocols based on aggregation strategy, load balance and energy efficiency.
